Cold & Hot Fusion Extensions

Understanding the difference between hot fusion (K-Tip) and cold fusion (I-Tip) hair extension methods can help you choose the perfect match for your lifestyle, hair goals, and styling preferences. At [Your Salon Name], we specialize in both techniques—each offering its own unique benefits to enhance your hair’s volume, length, and beauty.

K-Tip Hair Extensions (Hot Fusion Method) K-Tips, also known as Keratin Tip hair extensions, use the hot fusion method to securely bond each extension strand to your natural hair. A small amount of keratin—the same protein your hair is made of—is melted using a heat tool and fused at the root, creating a seamless and durable attachment.

⭐ Key Benefits of K-Tips:

  • Natural movement and feel: Individual strand application allows for full flexibility and a truly natural look.
  • Long-lasting wear: With proper care, K-Tip extensions can last 3–5 months.
  • Discreet results: Keratin bonds are virtually invisible and blend beautifully with your natural hair.
  • Ideal for fine to medium hair: Lightweight and low-profile, K-Tips work well with most hair types.

I-Tip Hair Extensions (Cold Fusion Method)

I-Tips, or individual tip extensions, use the cold fusion method to attach extensions without heat. Instead, a small bead or micro ring is used to secure the hair extension to a strand of your natural hair using a specialized tool. This method is heat-free and ideal for clients who prefer a no-heat installation process.

⭐ Key Benefits of I-Tips:

  • No heat or glue required: A great option for those who prefer a gentle, non-chemical method.
  • Reusable extensions: I-Tip strands can often be reused with proper care and maintenance.
  • Adjustable and flexible: Easy to tighten or reposition as your hair grows.
  • Great for active lifestyles: The secure bead system keeps your extensions in place through workouts, swimming, and daily wear.

What is the life span of the hair & service?

The life span of LXE hair extensions are based on our vendors recommendations.  LXE hair suppliers have stated that the hair should last up to 6 months before you would need new hair, however that is with exceptional care and upkeep on the client part.  We encourage if you purchase any other hair extensions from anywhere outside of our brand, we ask that you do thorough research and know what you are buying so it can last the whole duration of your service.  .

K-Tips installs can last up to 5 months, and the only thing that is often associated with these sort of services are K-fills. However there isn't much maintenance for this particular install.

I-Tips on the other hand requires move ups after they have been installed, and can last up to 4 months with maintenance.
